Up for an Oscar
One of the Oscar Mayer Weinermobile fleet landed near our magazine offices recently and created quite a buzz. When it drives by, or pulls up and parks, the vehicle elicits warm, fuzzy, happy smiles like no other. It also made me hungry for a Chicago-style hot dog. Do you relish hot dogs as much as I do? Where’s your favorite Texas hot dog stop? A ballpark? A drive-in? Let us know. And pass the mustard.

I had never seen the “Weinermobile” up close until I shot this photo. It’s not readily apparent just how huge this thing is. A lovely costumed young woman had to jump out and run around back to guide the driver (ya think it might have a blind spot or two?). I didn’t see the huge gullwing door, but Marty told me about it afterward. Bottom line . . . if you see this thing in a parking lot somewhere, take time to detour your trip, go over there and check it out . . . it’s AWESOME !
